Description
A natural reindeer hide sourced from Scandinavia. A different animal from the sheepskins, with a different character — soft, hollow-fibre hair that insulates against real cold (which is how reindeer thrive in arctic winters), in a warm natural mix of browns and creams. Traditionally used on benches and sleds in Lapland.
Dimensions: Approx. 125 x 75 cm (49" x 30"). Each skin is unique — colour, marking, and exact size vary slightly between individual items.
Why it's here: The reindeer hide belongs to the same family of natural floor and bench coverings we love about sheepskins — long-lived, low-maintenance, warming underfoot. Ours come from Scandinavian herds where the hides are a byproduct of meat production, ethically sourced, and prepared at established Nordic tanneries. A traditional piece of Lapland country life.
What you're getting: One natural Scandinavian reindeer hide, ethically sourced.
Care: Day-to-day care is a shake, a brush, and a vacuum. Reindeer hair is more brittle than sheepskin and will shed somewhat in the first few weeks; this is normal and slows quickly. Keep away from direct sun, radiators, and damp. Spot clean only.
