Why it's here

Ticking stripe is one of those patterns that has earned its way into permanence. It started as the practical fabric covering mattresses and pillows on American farms — narrow stripes of dark dye on undyed cotton, woven tightly enough to keep feathers in and dust out. Over time the pattern found its way out of the bedding closet and into the rest of the house. Cushions, aprons, curtains. It belongs in a rural interior the way no other pattern quite does.

In sage green and soft khaki, it reads quieter than the more familiar red or navy versions — closer to the colors of a kitchen garden in late summer than to anything assertive. Made entirely from natural cotton, with unfussy ruffles and tie-style closures that feel intentionally old-fashioned.
