Butter Spreader - European Olivewood

Description

A small olive wood spreader — for butter on toast, jam on a scone, soft cheese on a cracker. Carved from a single piece, so no joins to wear out or harbour bacteria. Olive wood is naturally non-porous and doesn't retain smells or flavours between uses.

Why it's here: Olive wood is one of our favourite materials in the kitchen and dining room. The tight grain makes it tough and naturally resilient to bacteria, not to mention beautiful — every piece is unique and handmade, with patterning that runs differently through each cut. We source ours from European olive trees whose branches are pruned each year as part of the agricultural cycle of harvesting olives, which makes it one of the most sustainable hardwoods you can put in a kitchen.

What you're getting: One single-piece olive wood butter spreader, approx. 7" long. Each one unique in grain.

Care: Do not put in the dishwasher. Hand wash only. If the wood starts to look dry, rub a little olive oil into the grain with a paper or cotton towel — the lustre will come right back.
