Description
The longest-haired sheepskin we carry, from the Icelandic breed. The natural white reads bright and soft — the easiest way we know to add light texture to a dark room, a leather chair, or a pew of weathered wood. Long, curly fibres throughout.
Dimensions: Approx. 36" x 28". Each skin is unique — colour, marking, and exact size vary slightly between individual items.
Why it's here: Sheepskins have been a natural part of rural homes and farmhouses for centuries — draped over benches, layered on chairs, set beside the bed where bare feet land first on a winter morning. We source ours from small independent farms across Europe, where the sheep roam freely and none are bred for their hides; every skin is a byproduct of animal agriculture. They're tanned and finished at some of the oldest family-run tanneries in Europe, by people who've been doing this for generations. We use them everywhere in our own house — draped over chairs and benches, one on either side of the bed, and our little dog Biscuit now refuses to sleep on anything else. She's a diva.
What you're getting: One Icelandic sheepskin in natural white, long-haired and curled.
Care: Natural sheepskins contain lanolin, which keeps them naturally soft and clean — they rarely need a full wash. Day-to-day care is a good shake, a brush with a metal slicker, and a vacuum to finish. Keep away from direct sun, radiators, wood stoves, and damp rooms like bathrooms. Full care instructions are printed on the label on the back of every sheepskin; with proper care, yours should last a lifetime.
