Why it's here: Not many feelings beat sitting in front of a fire in the countryside. And not many fires beat the traditional English inglenook — the great open fireplaces big enough to walk inside, found in old English pubs and country houses. Because of their size, they have a tendency to puff a little smoke back into the room, filling the air with the light aroma of smoke, charcoal, and wood. Not everyone can have an inglenook fireplace. But the smell is a big part of the ritual, and this candle is built to deliver exactly that.

The candle is poured into a rocks glass for a reason. Once the wax is burned through and the glass is cleaned out, the glass keeps going — less waste, and an invitation to a different but equally enjoyable country ritual: a small nip of whisky on a cool evening.
