Why it’s here

Everything in the Homestedt Antiques collection was sourced from rural barns, markets, and dealers across the North East of the United States, England, and Sweden, the same regions that have inspired much of what Homestedt does. These are objects that have already lived a life. They were made by hand, used daily, and have arrived here still doing what they were always meant to do. We collect these pieces because they show the kind of character that comes from decades of use, the evidence of the maker’s hand, and a beauty that adds texture, history and warmth to a home.

What you’re seeing in this collection is just a small selection of our antiques. For the full range of our latest pieces, we recommend a visit to our North Branch, NY location where you’ll find an ever changing collection of pieces that have caught our eye.

About this piece

Bradley & Hubbard was one of America’s premier lamp manufacturers, producing high quality decorative lighting from their Meriden, Connecticut factory from 1854 through the early 20th century. Their lamps are prized for the quality of their casting and the elegance of their proportions. This example has been carefully electrified, fitted with a gold cord, toggle switch, and standard E26 socket, making it as practical as it is beautiful. A genuine piece of American lighting history that actually lights a room.

Condition

Good antique condition. In working condition as an electrified lamp. Natural patina consistent with age. Gold cord and toggle switch in good order. E26 socket accepts standard bulbs.

Care & display

Use with an appropriate E26 bulb, we recommend a warm Edison-style bulb to complement the antique character of the lamp. Keep the cord away from heat sources. Wipe the base clean with a soft dry cloth.
