A turned olive wood container in the shape of an apple — not for eating but absolutely an eye-catcher with its tight grain pattern. Versatile as a salt or sugar bowl in the kitchen, a small bathroom keepsake, or a snack box on a side table.

Why it's here: Olive wood is one of our favourite materials in the kitchen and dining room. The tight grain makes it tough and naturally resilient to bacteria, not to mention beautiful — every piece is unique and handmade, with patterning that runs differently through each cut. We source ours from European olive trees whose branches are pruned each year as part of the agricultural cycle of harvesting olives, which makes it one of the most sustainable hardwoods you can put in a kitchen.

What you're getting: One hand-turned olive wood apple-shaped container with lid. Made in Germany.

Care: Do not put in the dishwasher. Hand wash only. If the wood starts to look dry, rub a little olive oil into the grain with a paper or cotton towel — the lustre will come right back.
