SUPPLIES
You will find cleaning supplies underneath the kitchen sink, in the drawer in the laundry room, a vacuum cleaner in the hallway next to the office, and dustpans and brushes hanging at the top of the stairs.

HEATING AND COOLING
Heat for the house is through radiant floor heat controlled from the thermostat on the living-room wall, on the wall in the bedroom and in the basement. We don’t have ac – we generally don’t ever feel like we need it, but we have a fan in the bedroom and if it’s hot just turn the fan on and open the windows.

NAVIGATING THE KITCHEN
The large drawers under the kitchen counter have hidden drawers in the top, that is where you will find most of the cutlery, cooking utensils, scissors etc. you should need during your stay. There are two bins in the drawer under the kitchen island one for garbage and one for general recycling (plastic, metal & glass), then another set of garbage bins on the opposite side under the sink (one for general garbage and one for paper recycling. Recycling can be left in the bins outside next to the wood shed when you leave. Then general garbage we take to the dump – but that can be left in the garage and we’ll take care of it when we’re back or have our cleaner help with it. Extra garbage bags can be found in the bottom of the drawer with the bins.

There is a dishwasher to the left of the sink – tablets can be found in the drawer in the island where the bins are.

LAUNDRY

You’ll find a washer and dryer in the walk in closet off the master bedroom. Laundry detergent is in the cupboard above the washing machine. Extra towels if you need them can be found in the cupboard above the dryer.

FIREPIT AND GRILL

There is a fire-pit and grill outside the front of the property. The grill is aa standing charcoal grill with and cooking grid - charcoal and lighter fluid can be purchased from the local supermarket (Pecks). The fire-pit is a solo stove and firewood can be found in the wood store in the driveway as well as next to the fireplace.

POOL

The pool is a slightly retrofitted system. The cover should be on it when it’s not in use just to hold in any heat and stop too much debris falling in, then removed when in use. There is also a filter for the pool that can be turned on in the opening underneath the deck next to the firepit - shouldn't really be necessary but can be used if you need. The icon “I” just turns it on and leaves it on and the numbers are a timer – the higher the number the longer the filter will run for. It doesn’t need to run all the time but you can run it for a couple of hours each day to remove any debris from the pool. There is also a net scooper under the sun chairs that can be used to remove any floating debris.

PROJECTOR
There is a projector downstairs in the basement. Just pull the screen down, then turn the projector on at the power button on the unit itself (on the shelf on the wall – the wooden top comes off that covers it). Once on you can just turn on apple tv with the apple remote next to the projector and the other remote controls the speaker/sound system. If the speaker isn’t activated you’ll need to pair it in the “remotes and Bluetooth” setting on apple tv. Or just google it.

CHECK IN
Check in is from 4pm unless agreed otherwise and the code to wget in will be messaged to you directly before check in. Just lock it when you leave using the lock button on the door.

CHECK OUT
Check out is at 11am unless agreed otherwise. We have professional cleaners that service the property after every stay, but we ask that you be respectful of them and return the house in a similar condition to how it was found – dishes should be clean, any garbage correctly disposed of, and the house should be tidy. To check out, just leave the house and ensure the door is locked.

GETTING AROUND
Sadly ride sharing still hasn’t made it here. For a car service try Sureway Taxi - (845) 794-5050.

TRASH DISPOSAL

There are two bins in the drawer under the kitchen island one for garbage and one for general recycling (plastic, metal & glass), then another set of garbage bins on the opposite side under the sink (one for general garbage and one for paper recycling. Recycling can be left in the bins outside next to the wood shed when you leave. Then general garbage we take to the dump – but that can be left in the garage and we’ll take care of it when we’re back or have our cleaner help with it. Extra garbage bags can be found in the bottom of the drawer with the bins.

PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

Nature is the reason you came here. Or maybe it was beer, but without nature there would be no beer. Please help us protect it. Sort and recycle your waste. Avoid single use plastic (the water from the tap is the Catskills finest). Please turn the heat down when you’re not in the building.
